At Synergy Sport Therapy we treat you as an individual. Our therapists focus on you one-on-one to develop treatment plans that center around each individuals goals.
We encourage our you to come ready to work in comfortable clothing that allows you to move and perform exercises. Expect to have a conversation about your goals and what you would like to achieve with us, and take ownership and an active role in your recovery and improvement.
Here at Synergy Sport Therapy, we offer a personalized approach to therapy. At our clinic, our therapists are the first face you see when you walk in the door and the last face you see when leaving. Our therapists, will take you through all aspects of the appointment including over the phone screening, assessment, hands on treatment, exercise prescription and even appointment booking and billing all within the allotted treatment time.
We have a very unique group of therapists in our clinic. Each has its own unique style of treatment, different educational backgrounds and different skillsets. Within our clinic we often co-treat and encourage clients to see other therapists if their treatment plan indicates that it would be helpful for their recovery.
We also collaborate with many professionals within the greater Guelph area and will facilitate referrals and co-treatment with other professionals when able.
Strength, conditioning and mobility
Our Therapists are all highly trained in Strength and Conditioning as well as helping individuals maintain and increase mobility. As part of your Massage Therapy or Athletic Therapy appointment you may work in our gym towards your fitness goals. As long as your strength, conditioning and mobility goals align with your treatment plan we can bill these services as RMT or Athletic Therapy.
While we navigate this ever changing pandemic, our clinic prides ourselves on maintaining a safe environment for our staff, our clients and families. We are following the guidelines set out by the Ontario Ministry of Health and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. All of our therapists are fully vaccinated against COVID 19, we wear medical masks while treating, we complete rapid tests regularly, do not work if we have any symptoms and have rigorous cleaning protocols within the clinic.
Currently everyone entering the clinic is required to wear a face covering for the entire duration of their visit.
Paying for my appointment
At Synergy Sport Therapy, while we prefer cash, debit or etransfer, we do accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We do not direct bill insurance companies, all clients are expected to pay immediately upon completion of the treatment and receipt will be provided via email for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Synergy Sport Therapy is owned and operated by Lori Stevenson and Kristina Milligan who are both Registered Massage Therapists and Certified Athletic Therapists. Lori and Kristina met in school for Massage Therapy and found out quickly they were a great team. They worked in separate businesses side by side for several years before deciding to join forces and create Synergy Sport Therapy inc.
The value and performance of two combined will be greater than the sum of the separate individual parts.
Massage therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.
Exercise Based Massage
Our exercise based Massage Therapy approach does not always include the traditional sheets and pillows method, and uses an active, client directed and focused approach to healing including manual therapy and remedial exercise.
Our RMTs have additional training in in modalities such as cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and acupuncture. These additional tools can be incorporated into a massage therapy treatment plan at no additional cost.
Athletic Therapy starts with the in-depth knowledge, education and training in the areas of the human musculoskeletal system, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and basic emergency care.
Point of injury to return to play
Athletic Therapists are experts in point of injury to full return to sport rehabilitation. We treat acute musculoskletal injuries, chronic conditions and pre/post operative joints, and get you back to your active lifestyle.
You can expect to be at your appointment for about 1 hour. Your appointment time includes time to assess your condition, implement a treatment plan as well as home care and any other inclusions deemed necessary. On the rare occasion we have alternative appointment lengths other than 60minutes if deemed necessary by the treating therapist.
We’re excited you are here! Currently both Sarah and Christine are taking on new clients.
We offer virtual therapy appointments from the comfort of your home. Appointments are conducted through our booking platform and all you need is a secure internet connection, web cam, microphone and some basic equipment.
We will teach you how to treat your condition with self administered massage, mobility and exercises.
Athletic Therapy can always be conducted virtually. Massage Therapy requires an initial in-person appointment.
The best and fastest way to get in contact with us is via text. We do not have admin support, Kristina answers the phone. Because of this Texting is best. She cannot answer the phone while in treatment and will see your text much sooner than a voicemail.
Email is also another easy option. Each of our therapists have a dedicated email address.
You can text the clinic at (519)-803-2335, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or DM us on social media.
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed appointment leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require 24 hours notice of any nor changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment will be charged the full fee of the appointment.
We do not provide direct billing to any insurance companies or third party payers. Because we are a small clinic without admin support, we require payment directly from our clients.
Synergy Sport Therapy and its Practitioners are committed to respecting the privacy of individuals and recognize the need of people with whom we do business (patients, clients, healthcare providers, third party payers) for the appropriate management and protection of any Personal Information that you agree to provide to us.
